The Salernitan association pays tribute to the great work of health workers in Salerno
On 12 December 2017, the United Nations declared this date as the “International Day of Universal Health Coverage”.
The event aims to raise awareness of the need for strong and resilient health systems and to orient us towards universal health coverage.
This year, given the COVID-19 emergency, Moby Dick ETS has decided to stand by those who risk their lives every day to help others. The initiative is part of the MAN (Micro azioni natalizie = Micro Christmas actions) promoted by Solidalis CSV of Salerno.
The Moby Dick members and the volunteers of the European Solidarity Corps wanted to show their appreciation for the great sacrifice made in this period and beyond, giving the medical and nursing staff a smile.
For this reason, on 12 December at the beginning of two work shifts (morning and evening), Moby Dick ETS was ready to bring some sweets and hot drinks as a refreshment to the emergency room of the hospital “San Giovanni Di Dio e Ruggi D’Aragona” and to the COVID Hospital “Giovanni Da Procida” in Salerno.
Volunteering is not only at the side of those who need solidarity, but also of those who work to alleviate the suffering of others.
After the latest episodes of violence and threats to health workers, we need to promote the culture of giving and show the hard work of those who dedicate themselves to others.
For this occasion, Moby Dick ETS collaborated with the Bar Santa Lucia for the supply of food and obtained the authorization of the hospital with which access to the area in front of the emergency room was organized and regulated in full compliance with the anti-COVID rules.
